Jenita Landrum born in Jackson, Michigan. She Graduated from Parkside High School and Jackson Area Career Center. She is now living in Phoenix, Arizona. The Painter and Installation artist creates works from oils, acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media. The mixed media are found objects such as photographs, wallpaper, fabric, cans, chairs, and shoes. The artist has exhibited her work nationally and internationally in group and solo venues for twenty years.
Her work can be seen in collections throughout the country. It is exposed in such places as Jackson Community College, Mesa Community College, Bill Cosby and the Dial Corporation among others. She has competed for two public art commissions for Central Ohio Diabetes in Columbus, Ohio and Apple Seed Girl Scouts District Office in Lima, Ohio.
Jenita is a Skowhegan Art Fellowship recipient. She attends an art residency in New York/ Maine. She also is an International Art Fellow spending time in Dresden, Germany. She has received two Individual Artist Fellowship from Ohio Arts Council. Her work has been exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions in Arizona, Chicago, Texas, Ohio, St Louis, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Africa, and Germany.
Taught art for fourteen years at South Mountain Community College in Phoenix, Arizona, Ohio University, The Ohio State University, Columbus State Community College, King Arts Complex in Columbus, Ohio, and Martin Luther King Center in Jackson, Michigan.
