Under the Silk Hibiscus is an inspirational novel set in Heart Mountain, Wyoming, a WWII internment camp for Japanese-Americans.  Told from the view point of 15-year-old Nathan, this is a story of war, prejudice, betrayal, love, and forgiveness. Nathan fights internal battles while he and his family are sent off to a camp.  The love for one woman, a singer named Lucy, keeps him hopeful that one day he will win her heart.
